Goodbye to Harriet

We said a sad final goodbye to our 'top hen' Harriet today who had been very poorly. Thank you for all your lovely eggs. x

Rosie

We have had our boat Rosie for a few years now and have had some lovely sailing and motoring trips out in her. However she was beginning to look a little scruffy. Over the past few weeks, Daddy has been lovingly restoring her paintwork and cleaning her up and Grandad has made her some lovely new floorboards.

Sunny Sunday

We all converged back at home after various camping trips for tea in the garden, what a perfect summers day...

School Fete

The sun shone and there were sweets and bouncing galore! Will especially loved the singing, well done all of you.

School Sleepover

James was up with the sun this morning so excited about the trip to the beach and year 2 school sleepover. He was dressed, washed and ready to go by 7am! We both promised to blow goodnight kisses at 7pm. Have fun Bubble! x

Cub Camp

Harry heads off tonight for his first 'solo' cub camp. He is spending the weekend at Collard Bridge, Snapper. Have fun Harry!

Breakfast on the deck

We're having a mini heatwave and it was warm enough for breakfast on the deck this morning. So much nicer doing your spellings in the garden!

The Piano

Its arrival caused much excitment in the house today and ever since everybody has been grabbing the chance to 'tinkle the ivories'. So lovely to hear a piano in the house.

Story time

Our copy is looking a little battered and tired, but 9 years on, is still a firm favourite at bedtime.

Sewing Roman blinds

Finally, the injection of colour our lovely new kitchen needs.

Pyramid Project

To complete his project on the Pyramids of Egypt, Harry (and Daddy) made a fantastic model pyramid today complete with oasis background. Well done!

Edible flowers

Edible flowers seem to have become very popular of late, so I thought I would give them a go this year. I have sown camomile (for tea) and borage and nasturtium for their beautiful and edible flowers. I may even be tempted to try a flower from our courgette plant!

Marbles

To encourage good behaviour and instill lessons about setting and achieving goals, we have reinstated our marble jars with great excitment and vigour!

James is currently in the lead (although no competition!!) with 2 marbles earnt this week for getting 5/5 in his spelling test and for trying a new food (tuna!).

There have been lots of offers to help out this week so Mummy is hoping the incentive of earning a marble will keep the help coming...

New chickens!

Daisy (top) and 'Sparkly' Flo (bottom) arrived today all the way from Honiton (Thank you Daddy!) Let's hope they settle in well and lay lots of lovely blue eggs for us!

Egyptian Workshop

Harry and I had great fun creating his costume for the Egyptian workshop. He surprised us all by allowing me to add eyeliner to complete the authentic look!
